We`ve stayed at Thoddoo, Rasdhoo and Mathiveri on this same trip and Ukhulas is by far the dirtiest beach of these four islands. Attached you can see some pictures of the beach. Although they agreed the bikini beach was full of garbage, they didn`t care at all. On the next morning, we decided to move to Rasdhoo and although we were the only ones at this guest house and despite we have canceled our reservation in due time, they made us pay for the 4 nights instead of paying for the only night we stayed in. We got back to the guest house and we canceled our reservation on before the limit time so this would give us time to choose another island instead of staying the 4 nights at that garbage beach. There were old sandals, pineaple skins, used condoms, glass bottles, plastic bottles, etc. You can choose the sunbeds on the beach but the umbrella is very small to cover two sunbeds so prepare to get sun burned! To our deception, the beach was completely dirty, with all kind of things floating on the water and on the sand, even pieces of broken glass as shown on photos attached. A boy from the guesthouse showed us the beach and he took an umbrella with him. We arrived in the early morning and were taken to the guest house where we left our luggage and we went to the beach right afterwards. There is a 24-hour front desk at the property. Every room includes a private bathroom with a bath and bidet, with free toiletries provided. Free private parking is available on site. We have booked 4 nights through based on the good reviews about this guest house and about the island. Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, New Moon Village offers beach-front accommodations in Ukulhas. People on Ukulhas were extremely friendly and helpful with a high amount speaking English.… The New Moon has its own speedboat and I'm not sure if this could have been used instead of us having to wait till 16:00 for the Paid Speedboat. Please note if its your first time to the Maldives after going through customs there is a ferry to catch to the main island MALE then a short taxi ride to either the Public or Speedboat ferry. We left via the public ferry $3 but it takes approx 5 hours, which was spent looking for dolphins etc. Beach is never too far to go to as the island is only 200 metres wide and the sunbeds and umbrella were located by a crystal clear bay near the reef. Our cases were whisked away and we were led to the New Moon. We were met from the speedboat ferry by the Manager and his assistant Anus and Don who were two very kind and helpful people. Very clean, homely feeling, fantastic shower room and provided a nice but limited Maldivian or Western breakfast.
